Ice fishing season starts just before Christmas and extends till the beginning of April. Bow river fishing is possible in any month but really starts in earnest in March and then the trout season continues until late fall. Ice fishing on Spray Lakes Reservoir is a hook and cook adventure while the Bow River is a catch and release fishery.
